OBITUARY NOTICE


MELTON W. GARRITY

Melton W. Garrity, 70, of Nashua, NH, died at St. Joseph Hospital, on March 11, after a courageous battle with cancer with family at his side. He was well known for his stories and spunky personality and his teasing of those around him. He will be sadly missed but not forgotten.

Mr. Garrity was born on July 5, 1935, in Portage, ME, the son of the late Daniel and Emelda (Michard) Garrity. He was a resident of Nashua for the past 44 years, prior to this he lived in Bangor and Brewer, Maine.

He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.

He was employed as a supervisor at Edgecomb Steel, in Nashua.

Mr. Garrity was an avid fan of wrestling. He also enjoyed fishing.

Family members include; his daughter, Tracy Resendes, and her husband, Joe, of Nashua, NH; two sons, Scott & Carol Garrity of Nashua, NH; Raymond Garrity, of Derry, NH; 7 grandchildren, Shannen Pelletier and Nicholas Resendes, Joshua, Amber, Jeffrey Garrity, all of Nashua; Damian and Summer Garrity, of Derry, NH; 2 sisters, Marleen Young, of Alton, ME; Janice Townsend, of Bangor, ME; Mr. Garrity was predeceased by his wife, Alene (Harris) Garrity, and by his daughter, Sandra Garrity.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 16, 11:00 AM at The Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. It lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110, in memory of Mr. Garrity.
